Examiners

As an examiner in Censorum, you can view the examinations you have been assigned to and complete examination reports after the examinations have taken place.

Examiners are registered and assigned to examination bookings by examination coordinators at educational institutions. You therefore do not need to apply to become an examiner or be an officially appointed external examiner to use the system.

As an examiner, you have access to the same tabs under My Examinations as external examiners. However, you will only see the examinations and functions relevant to your role.

In Censorum, you can:

  • View upcoming examinations to which you have been assigned as an examiner.
  • Find information about your examinations.
  • Complete and submit examination reports.
  • View previous examinations and their associated reports.
  • Manage your user information.

My Examinations and Reports

To get an overview of your examinations, go to My Examinations in Censorum.

Here, you can view the examinations you have been assigned to as an examiner and create examination reports after the examinations have taken place.

The page contains three tabs:

Allocated Examinations

Here, you can view the examinations to which you have been assigned as an examiner.

The overview provides information about your upcoming and current examinations.

By opening an examination, you can view the available details, such as the date, examination location, and assigned external examiner.

Create an Examination Report

Once an examination has been completed, you must fill out an examination report.

To do this, find the examination under Allocated Examinations and click the Create Examination Report button.

You will then be directed to a form where you must answer a series of questions about the examination process and your collaboration with the external examiner.

The content of the form depends on the external examiner corps associated with the examination booking.

A standard examination report for examiners typically includes questions such as:

  • Did you and the external examiner align your expectations before the examination?
  • Was the external examiner adequately prepared?
  • Were the external examiner’s professional qualifications relevant?
  • Did you agree on the assessment of the students?
  • Did the external examiner take notes during the examination?
  • Did the external examiner help ensure that the examination stayed on schedule?
  • Was the external examiner’s behaviour and communication satisfactory?
  • Did the external examiner understand their role?
  • Was the collaboration satisfactory?
  • Was the overall conduct of the examination satisfactory?
  • What academic or professional discussions did you have during the examination?

Once you have completed the form, click Save.

Your examination report will then be registered in Censorum, and the examination will automatically be moved to the Previous Examinations tab.

Previous Examinations

Here, you can view examinations to which you have previously been assigned as an examiner.

You can also see whether an examination report has been submitted for each examination.

If an examination report is marked as Submitted, it means that the report has been registered in the system.

This tab provides a complete overview of your previous examinations and the status of their associated reports.

If an Examination Is Missing

If an examination does not appear in your overview, please contact the examination coordinator at your educational institution.

The examination coordinator is responsible for ensuring that you are assigned to the relevant examination booking in Censorum.
